HOTEL LE TOINY
Location / St Barth’s, French West Indies
Service / Full Service, including Exterior Design and Branding
Our brief was to create a destination hotel, with ‘a toes in the sand’ feeling for the clientele. With our pursuit to achieve organic luxury, we embraced the use of natural materials that are local to the hotel’s position on the island. Petrified timber, mother of pearl, sand and oyster shells all contribute to a scheme that is tactile yet extremely elegant and luxurious.
Project Scope:
Our intention was to create a home away from home with not only the design of the rooms, but the entire hotel. Across 25 suites, all with a sea view and private pool including 6 of which we designed and built from the ground up, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, a library and reception area, we demonstrated this approach. From table lamps filled with sand, to the pool bar clad in oyster shells, the element of nature was the main ingredient to create this relaxing, comfortable and grounded environment.
The other angle to the brief was luxury, which is clear in the fact that every piece was truly unique and made bespoke for the requirements of the hotel. There is a keen attention to detail in each item, from the practicality of loose cover furniture, to the beauty of contrast stitching on the leather furniture. No stone was left unturned.
